Live what you love

Is that what we are really aiming for in life? Live with what we love? I live for myself, my husband and my closest siblings and family members...what do i love? A lot of things! but when you come to think of it..its just things!

Mainly for a fact that we tend to overdo it. Like the world is going to end without having those "things" that we thought can make us happy. Here's mine just for shits and giggles:

Here's what I love:

1) My husband: obviously for all the right and perfect reasons to live for...its quite a no brainer, don't you think? heee*
Trying to have that: "please, don't make me eat shumai" look. The outcome was quite effective. lol.

2)Photography: can't leave the house without it -- I'd rather carry tons of weight on my shoulders carrying heavy gadgets most especially my camera equipments rather than clothes. heeee*
Had to take a self-portrait, taken in Maesai - Northern part of Thailand, border to Myanmar (Burma), August 2011

3) Cooking: It should be first, no? Well..whatever..it goes together for me anyways..pictures and food..fantastic couple eh?

4)Travelling: Mommie always tells me, I always have an itch from the bottom of my feet, can't stay in one place..I have to be somewhere. That's why am really happy knowing that I finally found Eric..my partner in scratching all my itches. heeee!

nice beetle..only missing part is being spray painted..my lurverine would gladly get this for us..

5)Arts and Crafts: that includes sewing (of course..heee) wow..before I put this on the second place right after cooking..guess when you grow older your priorities change. Otherwise, it doesn't matter..everything is very well treated equally loved. =)

I stop from there..as for now I don't have anything to add. So how about you? Do you live what you love? What are they? Care to share? hrhrhrhrh =D

Let's begin with Monday...

As we are now reaching our one month and 3 days stay here in Li, Lamphun district of Thailand...we are discovering more Thailand culture than ever before.  I can't even believe that we are currently living and working here.  If memory would serve me right, last year when me and my husband at that time are still dating...he actually gave me that idea of moving to thailand is the best way for us to be together.  We were not even contemplating of getting married just yet! hah!

Oh well...as the story goes...

So here we are, together-- adjusting to everything, down to the weather up to whatever you can think of we are in it! Right now we are in the middle of working our documents to be sent off to the Immigration of the Kingdom of Thailand which is actually way overdue and supposedly be done by our so-called agency. But nothing happened.

Whew! meow is back (so far!)

Huzzah! something pushed me to get up and open my laptop and just write while listening to Rage Against the Machine documentary..rhhrhr (yeah hubby wanted me to watch it).

A lot of things happened during the course of a few years..will do my best to update as soon as we get (finally!) settled. lol.

Home is where our heart is

so, this is our new abode...we hope to stay here as much as we can and fill it with love and gratitude every single day. As per manang mira's request..here it is nang!

(and to Anne too, kay kamo man lang dre na duha bi gabasa sang blog ko..te okay ah...la kaso wala sang abogago hrhrh)

welcome to our new home! yeah we're back in Brooklyn only better!

Our kitchen counter its still messy lol.

The granite tops are awesome..easy to clean, easy to maintain.
corridor towards the living room, bathroom on the left...

Isn't it so obvious that I so love the kitchen? ahihih..yeah we've got some wine brackets too...for now we put a paper towel in there haha!
Our cute bathroom, gotta fix a little bit of designing here and there

Ok, I took this photo a little bit dark, we have a nice sunlight coming through the window, which is a blessing here in Brooklyn.

This is our room, pardon the appearance, we don't have a bed yet but sleeping on the floor with a mat is a good way to straighten up our poor backs. Haaha my husband Eric loves to sleep on the floor when he was a kid, so I'm happy that he is very flexible and resilient to our situation.

Since we are starting from scratch, here is our mess.

This is the entry way going towards the patio.

And this is our patio! Wooooott!

Very cute and simple. Life is beautiful.

YES! we've got trees! even squirrels jumping around and lots of birds...oh how we love nature!

So that's the end of our small tour', living room and the rest of the room in  the apartment are in need a lot of cleaning and organizing so..that would be the next blog.

Living in Washington heights in Broadway were a complete and utterly different from where we are right now.  You just don't know how happy and relieved we are after we left that area.  It took us just a single night to decide that we have to leave asap or endure the dangerous and uncomfortable situation that we are dealing since we lived there. Two days after when a good friend of ours highly recommended the place for the same amount of rent that we pay in Manhattan, this is a STEAL! So we immediately packed our stuff (which are clothes, computers, my cameras and equipments and Eric's vinyl records, two turntables, guitar and thats it! we have no furniture and not that a lot of stuff. Which is good, we have nothing to think about. That's the way its supposed to be anyway, in this life we both think that that we don't necessarily need a lot of stuff..its just an equivalent to unnecessary "garbage".

So why we left Washington Heights? A week before we decided that we have to leave, there were like at least three stabbings in our building, our neighbor got mugged just outside the main gate at 6 am on her way to work, cops everywhere everyday, every night, gangs everywhere, shootings here and there, non stop crazy, annoying and blasting mexican/puerto rican/spanish etc. music from the building that also includes the other apartment buildings from outside, car alarms that goes off at 3 or 5 am in the morning...and so much that it made us dread just to be there.  Now that is a freaking ghetto! What can we do? we are saving money and thats all we can afford and we have to deal with it.

So the universe has probably listened to our woes and struggles that it ended our almost a year  stress. LOL.

Wooww..this is the longest blog so far that I did. ciao!

we are moving!

nah, not what you think.. just moving back to Brooklyn because I hate to say it but am itchin to get out of our current place fast! That is why my blogs are in hiatus till we finally get settled in our place.

Wellllll...we'll see how it goes.  As of now I will do my best to keep this one updated. (crossing my fingers and toes) It's 21 past 5 am and my hubby is comfortably snoring the early morning away...he will have lots of things to do today and both of us will be running the whole day like chickens without heads. hrhrhhr...

Our friend Infinity will have some gig tonight at Cielo in Chelsea, Manhattan so  we will try our best to make it after we drop off our stuff to the new apartment. YAY! soooooooo excited! will post photos soon (I hope!) ahahha...

Creep

hrhrhr...that only means am slowly creeping myself in to blogging and everything else that I have left behind, months and even years...so..its like having the self-fulfillment that I am about to accomplish.

am so glad to see my dear friend Anne here at my blog, she was the first to respond when I came back here... from way back...also struggling to find the true meaning of  honesty and not fakery.

I love you Anne! as always we may have not spoken for years..but I know whenever we get the chance we know we can get there and manage to pick things where we've left them...

Its okay am more on the calmer side..no more of those fists of temper and rage. lol. I would just rant and vent but that's the most of it. haahaa.

made breakfast for my co-workers

Yeah, this is my way of saying thanks for being the most wonderful co-workers I've ever had!

I must say that I am very blessed to have them! They are worth it!

My boss John and Tommy our youngest front desk person: enjoying my homemade Longganisa, Beef Tapa, Scrambled egg and Sinangag (fried rice)

Our Physical Therapy Aide: Ace preparing the patient's room and himself. LOL.

yeah this is what I made very early in the morning, I started cooking around 4 am, because I had to leave by 6 for work. It would take me an hour and a half to get there.

HAHAH gotcha Ace.

So yeah...am glad they all love the food I cooked and prepared for them. One of my direct bosses too Angel was not in the photo since she went out to buy some coffee for all of us. Next time I will take a photo of her. Heee...

out with friends..

So yeah..i had a great time last night..so here's what I did:

I met up with Sarah and Shawn at 34 Street and Herald Square right in front of Tim Hortons @ 5:30 pm and I went there about 5 minutes later than that. Saw I saw them sitting on a stoop waiting for me since they don't have a phone because they're travelling from Canada, cross country-ing the US and all the way to Sydney, Australia and New Zealand and go back to Canada...in about 3-4 months or so. I won't be seeing them till then. Well, Sarah is our boardmate back in the days where we don't have a place to stay with and so is she, trying to make a life here in New York but did not make it, so she made a trip back to Toronto after a few months of soul searching and found Shawn in her life and they're now in the trip of new adventures in their lives. And so I took them to this restaurant that is closeby where I am going to after them...its called Mooncake Restaurant in Chelsea 263 West 30th Street here in New York City. Also, am going to make some food review about this restaurant but its going to on our foodies website.

My canadian friends: Sarah and her boyfriend Shawn both from Toronto

Comparing our skin colors, lol.
Sarah and Me after 6 months she went back to Canada
We're getting ready to leave finally after half an hour of waiting for our check, lol.
So long friends, till we meet again!
It was past 7 pm when we finally parted ways, because they have to be in their hotel before 9 and they wanna make sure that they're going to be on time for their bus to leave for Boston and last stop is Maine before going to LA. And moi, bidding goodbye and off to the next stop which is the Artshow that was being held at our friend's studio.

I did my photoshoot once in this fantastic studio...Joey himself is an artist, he just rented his space for other old and upcoming new artist in the community. Maybe someday I will have an exhibit show, who knows.

Here are the Artworks that were featured in the show:

I apologize that I did not get the names of the artists who were there in the said event, my time spent was more focused with my great friend Lisa whom I've known for more than 6 years and her hubby Joey of course.

Well...I had some fun, had my red wine and met some wonderful people and probably create another batch of new friends..lol.

Stay tuned for more..yeah..

so to speak.

-- It's the weekend and am entitled to be lazy after a hectic work week. Am now on the  edge of shrinking into a teenie weenie bug since my husband is away for almost a month now...and it felt like eons ago.

Got lots on my plate though today, meeting an old board mate from loftstel last year, her name's Sarah and her boyfriend Shawn (both coming from Canada) is going to meet up with me in the city in which after that, am going to an art show sponsored by our dear friend Joey in his office right down the heart of 32nd street in Midtown Manhattan.  So it's going to be a fun night then, am really looking forward to see some good old friends.

In the meantime, hubs are quite busy these days with his projects and at the same time doing his best to figure out a lot of things for us to be together soon.  So, am hanging in there, actually we both are.

I don't even know if some of my friends are reading this blog of mine. Since I know I've been so inactive lately or have some sporadic moments in this blog since I have like other sites to maintain with! haha!  Yeah, facebook is totally out and I only have twitter...but that too is slowly fading away.

Well then..if you need to hit me up, you can write me an email or a comment here for sure I am checking this one, once in a while. Also am listening to one of the CC from jamendo...good stuff!

toodles!

good thursday.

Its just plain good.

Good weather, a very good meeting with my co-workers and our boss who is one of the owners of our clinic, another good meeting/training with our boss and the rest of other co-workers from other locations, great day to see other co-workers where I had my training...lots of good hugs and good vibrations and most especially my husband called me at work to check how my day was. uber sweet. =D

What more I can say? I just felt loved.

Eventhough I was quite stressed and no proper sleep I still managed to smile and kept my spirits going and it worked pretty well for me. I hanged in there and yes I hanged in tight, yesiree!

By the time I got back in the apartment, I'm pooped to the tits, left a message to my husband on skype letting him now that am home.  Relaxed for a bit till he finally called me,spoke for awhile and he suggested that its better for me to go take a power nap for at least an hour. Which is a totally fantastic idea! lol.

Now, am listening to his compositions/mix.  I am so proud of him!!! He just got a gig in New York!!! This is just another great news! This would be his first gig as a musician playing with King Tubby's nephew. I will post his poster soon!

Indeed, am a very proud wife of a musician and artist! woooot!

SO...hmmmm...okay now that I finally wrote on something here. It's time for me to make yerba mate tea for my kombucha.

adios, farewell, adieu, a bientot!

Rainy days and mondays

i woke up around 6 am today, but since its still very early to wake up I stayed in bed and get some more zzzzz's and finally my body told me its time to get up even way before my alarm would go off.

And so I opened up my laptop and started checking what's going on re: e-mail, twitter and our sites..including this one! lol.

My langga^ bana is also awake and he called me up and whilst am talking to my love, rain starts to fall and its a great time for me to eat my laswa (boiled vegies) and brown rice for brunch before I go to work today.

Yes, I found some time to do my groceries and actually cooked for my lunch, dinner for the rest of the week..ahihi..I just have to put them in the fridge and reheat them as soon as I get home and esp. when am hungry. Voila! good budgeting and I have extra for our savings which is totally a good thing!

And so here it is..I will also post this on our main food site with recipes and all..so..

okay here's the news.

Here's the rundown of events:

1) During the silence, I was either busy at work and trying to keep myself back in shape by running 3 to 4 miles everyday. Therefore, even if I kept on losing the weights off no matter how much I ate (which I am quite surprised by very thankful!) I managed to squeeze in some time for exercise..that means yes TONING my muscles. ahahahahahahahahahahah...yeah right, whatever.

2) Meanwhile, I didn't know that my boyfriend at that time was scheming on something for me.

3) Which is: PROPOSING to me as his forever crazy poppazits wifey.

4) And so I did say: ABSOFUCKINLUTELY HELLS YEAH!

5) Okay so we sent out our Engagement which was on May 23rd.

Eric and Moi, during our early days lol.

6) June 4th I went to upstate New York in Massena to meet up with my fiance` and his mom for the weekend. Believe it or not, she doesn't know yet at that time that we just got engaged. But we have planned about seeing each other even before me and my fiance got engaged. lol.

Pardon the image, the waitress doesn't know how to operate such camera..sigh* thus the blurriness...another sigh*

7)And so yes, that was a very LOVELY weekend. And the three of us are very, very happy about the great news!

8) Me and my fiance came back to New York together to make plans for the wedding.

9) WE decided to get hitched on June 18, 2010.

10) .............and so here we are. Husband and wife:  Mr and Mrs Labelle!

YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
